Regarding AASHA Program the Project Director & Project Manager are attended for videoconference program at Eluru. In the videoconference Program the APSACS Team an also PSU attended and reviewed things and also the information provided by the one of the consultant explained on the AASHA Program.

After the video Conference the District Collector conducted a meeting with all the NGO’s and other Officials. The District Collector Mr.Lav Agarwall I.A.S., requested all the participated people to make suggestions for the effective implementation of the AASHA program especially in rural areas.

 

The District Collector conducted review meeting on 20th June with the NGO’s and others for that meeting Joint Collector DLO, DMHO, and other Officials. In this meeting once again stressed to the conducted AASHA program more effectively. The Project Manager Attended training program on AASHA on 26th in Hyderabad for this program the Team Leader and his team Project Director Ms.Damayanthi I.A.S. also attended to make suggestions for the Project Managers for the AASHA program. Later the Project Manager visited DLO Office as resources person in attended for Two days. The Project Officer Mr.Sasidhar visited DLO Office as a coordinator of West Godavari District on 30th June.

Processing & Training:

From our Project the positive people trained by APPLE Net Work at Eluru for 15 People and also allotted for different Mandals on AASHA program. At the same time we are also trained our peer educator in AASHA program and allotted different Mandals at the locations.

The Project Director attended different meetings on AASHA program at District Level on Various dates we are also including the minuets for your kind consideration.

 

Our program schedules and Mandal level and urban level programs we discussed with concern authorities and finalized with them and also send Project Support Unit. For each Mandal we allotted 5 peer educators and 2 members from the Project Team. For each person we paid Rs.50/- per day according to program schedule for each mandal as T.A. & D.A. We gave the training for Peer Educators and CBO Members on 28th June by the Project Manager and his Team members. In this Training Program for Peers and CBO members explained the importance of AASHA Program why we conducting this program especially in rural areas. The CBO members also actively participated and promised to make success.

The Project Director visited all the Targeted Mandals and gave orientation on the program. We also conducted for the above Mandals a meeting with MDO’s on 27th June in different times by the Project Director and his Team. We are also allotted our peer educators for the Undrajavaram Mandal on the request of MDO for the AASHA Program.

For each Mandal we allotted 5 Peers, 2 CBO Members, 2 PLWHA Members, & 2 Members from Project Team. At the same time all these group members worked with co-ordination and make success in every area for AASHA Program. All these people worked with commitment and responsibility especially the target community worked with innovative approach to bring more out puts through the program.

Monitoring & Assessment:

Regarding the program processes the project Manager and Director Weekly Reviewing with the Team Members and makes necessary guidelines for them. At the same time the Project Manager and Director Visited the different Areas and make guidelines for effective reach the program especially rural areas. In our area the VIPS M.LA, and District Collector visited and also make review the program and suggested guideline along with MDO’s MRO, Revenue Divisional Officer, and Municipal Commissioner.
 

Special Programs conducted by NGO Sameekarana:

Community Lunch:
---------------------

We arranged the Community Lunch for the Positive people on 01-07-2005 in Tanuku Mandalam at Mandapka Village. We are also arranged the Community Lunch in Irragavaram and Undrajavaram. In Tanuku the M.L.A, M.D.O, Special Officer, and other Government Officials participated. The Community Lunch provided the moral boost for the Positive People and encourages them to lead better life in future.

At the same time the Community Lunch Avoid stigma and discrimination towards the HIV Infected persons, treat them and move with them like any other person. We are also requested all the people those who are participated in the community lunch.

  • Encourage them to lead a healthy and normal life.
  • Guide them to counselors/doctors who will help them lead a
    normal lifeIncrease their involvement in care programs for other infected
    persons.
  • Provide psycho-social support to them and their families.

    Learnings from the AASHA Program and Concluding Remarks:

  • Avoid stigma and discrimination towards the HIV infected persons.
  • Treat them move with them like any other person.
  • Encourage them to lead a healthy and normal life.
  • Guide them to counsellors/doctors who will help them lead a norma llife.
  • Increase their involvement in care programmes for other infected
    persons.
  • Provide psycho-social support to them and their families.
  • There are number of gaps in this program to achieve 100% success.
  • We observed 50% people yet to know the seriousness about
  • HIV/AIDS.
  • We have to concentrate on rural areas should be more selective.
  • We have to increase more care & support services for each mandal.
  • High level commitment should be necessary in every context.
  • Regarding concluding remarks there is a lot of commitment and responsibility necessary from top to bottom in the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention activities. In every context high-level commitment honest hard work very essential factors in the implementation process of prevention activities of HIV/AIDS. Otherwise we will not achieve 100% success and we will face major problems in future regarding health and also major adverse impact economical development and growth of the nation.
